Essential Morning-of Wedding Details You Shouldn't Miss
What details should you have on the morning of your wedding?
Your wedding day is one of the most memorable moments of your life, and capturing every detail is essential for preserving those precious memories. From the bride's shoes to the groom's cufflinks, having these elements ready for your photographer can make a huge difference in your wedding album. Here are the essential wedding details you should have ready to be photographed.
THE RINGS!
Most people assume that the groom has the rings with him. Make sure that the rings are wherever the photographer will be photographing details. Have both engagement and wedding rings cleaned and ready for a close-up.
Props: Consider using a custom ring box to enhance the overall layout. I typically bring some in my little detail box, but I love using my client’s custom boxes too.
FLOWERS
If possible, have the florist drop off the flowers to the getting ready location. If not the full bouquet, maybe a few loose flowers that can be used for styling.
INVITATIONS
Your wedding invitations set the tone for the entire event. Make sure to have a complete set ready, including the invitation, RSVP card, and any additional inserts. 2 sets of Invitations and 2 sets of the Save the Dates if they work well together is what I aim for.
“BRIDAL DETAILS”
Jewelry is important for doing a “bride’s things” shot. Earrings, bracelet, anklet, necklace ect. The dress and shoes are an obvious staple but another good detail is the bride’s perfume.
SKIP THE UGLY PLASTIC HANGER
Nothing is more unfortunate thAn a gorgeous wedding gown hanging on a plastic white hanger. If a custom hanger with the bride’s name on it is not possible, I highly recommend a plain wooden hanger to put the dress on. It photographs much prettier.
SENTIMENTAL SWEET THINGS
Feeling sentimental? A ticket stub from your first date. A newspaper with your date on it. Your grandmother’s rosaries, a custom handkerchief, handwritten vows, or another family heirloom….if you have something that you want photographed or incorporated into your detail images, bring it and have it ready!
Having these essential details ready for your wedding photographer can ensure that every beautiful element of your big day is captured perfectly. From the invitation suite to the venue decor, each detail contributes to the story of your wedding. By preparing these items in advance, you’ll have a stunning collection of photos that you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
