Rapunzel-Inspired Shoot

This Rapunzel does not wait. She creates a day from the hues of

colors using the palettes of the day. Our Rapunzel sketches

words onto parchment and coaxes them into poetic stanzas. Her

mornings kissed with the whispers of dawn always begin the

same—tea and cakes—sweet, delicate and rich.

Her walkabout the tower is so to catch the light that keeps her

strong and certain that another tomorrow with new possibilities is

lurking.

Her mid morning rest is filled with books. For hours, she delights

in the words that carry her off to beautiful new worlds. And while

the light is at its brightest, she stitches threads into flowers and

flowers into bouquets.

When it’s time for supper, she spends hours turning fruits and

sweet breads into delicacies that quiet her mood.

She uses the last bits of the days’ light to capture vistas from

memory. Her graceful strokes create a freedom on her canvas

that is bestowed on some—the grass between toes, the stream

running over fingers, the endearing warmth of sun and true

movement of sky bathing a person entirely.

The finishing light that streams into the tower finds her final

strokes of paint quieted, the last words of the book read, the

thread and needle resting whilst pen lain on parchment.

The dusky evening is now filled by one lighted candle and the

sound of movement of white and black keys from her piano forte

as her notes swirl about the room.

Weary from her tasks, she rests her head and reflects upon her

work. She is calmed by the richness and peace of the world she

created. The bounty of her day fills her as the night closes around

her, and she begins the dream sequences that carry her into the

another awaiting dawn.

For this Rapunzel does not wait, nor does she dream of a prince.

This Rapunzel creates. This Rapunzel is complete.
